The mountains of the Altyn-Emel National Park include such massifs of Jetysu ("the area of seven rivers") as the southwestern spurs of Dzhungarian Alatau (part of the Koyandytau ridge, the southern slope of the Altyn-Emel ridge and the Matai, Degeres and Sholak ridges), as well as the desert mountains Big and Small Kalkans, Katutau and Aktau.
Jetysu Alatau (Dzhungarian Alatau) is the longest of the mountain ranges of Jetysu (Seven Rivers).
