The Altyn-Emel National Park is especially beautiful in spring. The blooming of a seemingly lifeless desert is the sight for which it is worth visiting the national park in the spring. Moreover, the weather at this time of the year is very favorable. Rains are rare, the sun does not burn yet, and the air is already warm and reminds of the approaching summer.
The surroundings of the Singing Dune and the Aktau mountains are very picturesque in April-May. You will see blooming desert plants like saxaul, spine pink, Dzhungarian sun rose, and the famous flower of the desert, saline cistanche. You can also meet blue islands of irises in the sandy deserts, and tulips of various types on the stone slopes of the mountains. Many of the plants of Altyn-Emel are rare, listed in the Red Book of Kazakhstan.
