Important Information
- Getting to Basshi: You will need to reach the village of Basshi by private or rental car. The roads from Almaty (via the Konaev Highway) or from Charyn Canyon (via the Almaty-Khorgos Highway / towards Zharkent) are fully paved and suitable for all types of passenger vehicles. Please note that there is no public transportation to Altyn-Emel National Park.
- Off-Road Conditions: Road infrastructure within the Altyn-Emel National Park consists entirely of rough gravel routes with a severe "washboard" effect. Due to intense vibrations and hazardous terrain, standard passenger cars and crossovers (SUVs) are strictly unsuitable and face a high risk of damage.
- Vehicle Provision: Transit within the park requires specialized 4x4 off-road vehicles, which are provided exclusively with our drivers. Vehicles are assigned based on current availability; specific models or vehicle types cannot be requested or guaranteed.
- Service Nature & Liability: Please note that there are no scheduled or regular commercial tours available. We solely fulfill individual transport requests for travelers who lack a dedicated vehicle capable of navigating the park's terrain. The operator cannot guarantee absolute safety, physical comfort, or strict arrival times given the harsh off-road environment. By requesting this service, travelers acknowledge the inherent risks of desert transit and accept them entirely at their own risk; the operator assumes no liability for the travelers.
- Force Majeure & Off-Road Contingencies: Given the remote desert environment and extreme road conditions, unforeseen delays may occur. The operator is not responsible for itinerary changes or delays resulting from flat tires, technical issues caused by road vibrations, flash floods, dust storms, or sudden weather shifts. Travelers must plan their schedules with these potential delays in mind.
- Vehicle Sharing & Pooling: Splitting the cost of a vehicle between separate, unrelated groups of tourists is extremely difficult and nearly impossible due to unpredictable schedules. While we may attempt to group solo travelers or small parties together if an opportunity arises, this service is absolutely not guaranteed. Travelers should be prepared to pay the full price for the vehicle.
